Fontainbleau is one of the most amazing climbing areas in the Europe, the bouldering there is so varied that there is something for everyone. As such it makes for one of the best places to hone your climbing technique under the expert eyes of our climbing coach mark reeves.
Over the course we will explore many of the areas of the famous Fontainbleau forest. In doing so get to grips with climbing on these amazing sandstone boulders. Areas like L’Elephant, Bas Cuvier, 91.2, Isatis and other fantastic venues to suit the groups needs.
These courses run with a morning formal coaching before we stop for lunch. In the afternoon the group head off to explore the area of the day and attempt to work routes. The coaching in the afternoon is more focused on helping you climb a few project boulder problems.
We anticipate a rest day during this course, this is because the nature of the climbing means that fingertips are usually so thin by the second or third day that you will need a rest.
The accommodation is generally a self catering gite, somewhere in the forest. With a ratio of one coach to four students.
Experience Required
Some experience of bouldering is helpful for Fontainebleau, although the diversity of climbing means can cater for a wide variety of abilities from people climbing severe upwards. We do ask that you have no back or lower limb injures due to nature of falling when bouldering.
Typical Day
A typical day on our courses at fontainebleau is a easy warm up at a bouldering area with a hour or more coach lead workshop session. Followed by a break for lunch. In the afternoon we encourage you to tour the area and put the mornings lessons into practice. Your guide will still be on hand to help coach specific problems.
Airport Details
We aim to pick you up from Paris – Charles De Galle Airport on the first morning of the holiday and drop you off in the afternoon/evening of the last day. Please inform us of you flight details so we can add those details to the booking form.
