Morocco Sport Climbing – Todra Gorge

Todra Gorge is a remote area in Morocco that has been popular with climbers for many years. Its out of the way nature means that it is not a really a ‘clip-up’ destination like many of the sport climbing areas we visit. It has a really adventurous feel and definitely fits better into our climbing adventure holidays than our coaching holidays.

Our Moroccan climbing adventures are based in Todra Gorge which is a fantastic area with hundreds of sports routes and even a via ferrata. The routes range from around f4 to above f7a. With single pitch pitch crags and some multi pitch routes from 2 to 12 pitches long.

This experience is generally a guided trip, however as the holiday progresses we can tailor the routes to meet your needs and hand over some of the leading to you, should you wish. As a result this is a total adventure with anything from 200 metre 6a+ routes rising straight out of the deep gorge to easy single pitch crags  and a lot in-between.

We stay at a local hotel that has specialised in looking after climbers and gives classic bedouin hospitality. With traditional food provided for breakfast and dinner on this specific course.

Experience Required

You really need to be able to second 6a to really appreciate the climbing in Todra Gorge. If you can then the multi pitch routes are fantastic.

Typical Day

We start with breakfast in the hotel and then make our way the short distance into the gorge. We will typically climb one long 10 pitch route or several shorter routes during the day. Either taking a lunch with us or stopping for a snack during the day. We will typically eat in the hotel as well in the evening.

Airport Details

We will meet in the morning of the first day of the course at Marakech airport. where we will then drive the 8 hours to the gorge.

Courses

We Currently have no specific dates for this area of Spain, but we will can arrange specific dates to suit your needs.
